Census night is Tuesday 9 August 2016, and everyone in Australia from the age of 18 needs to complete it.

If you are driving a truck on census night make sure you know how and where you are going to complete your form. You have two options, based on whether you are in or near a paper form delivery location.

Option 1
If you are IN OR NEAR a paper form delivery location:
1. Pre-identified locations will receive paper forms on August 9 and 10.
2. Pick up a paper form from one of these pre-identified locations.
3. Go online and use the Census Login to complete the form at census.abs.gov.au
5. For the ‘What is the address of this dwelling?’ question record the address of where you are staying on Census night.
6. Remember to include all people travelling with you.

Option 2
If you are OUTSIDE a paper form delivery location?
1. Call the Census Inquiry Service on 1300 214 531 and tell them your location. For example, rest stop 80km west of Kalgoorlie.
2. They will provide you with a unique 12-digit Census Login.
3. When you next have access to the internet, go to census.abs.gov.au and complete the Census online.
4. For the ‘What is the address of this dwelling?’ question, record the address of where you are staying on Census night.
5. Remember to include all people travelling with you.
